New Amsterdam to Manhattan 400 Years of Freedom Ways & Community Upliftment

Join NYC Parks and The Ancestors Speaks for a Commemoration of the Abolition of Slavery in NYS, July 4, 1827. Just a few steps from the African Burial Ground is an unassuming street which was very important in both the Colonial and Antebellum period of New York's Black community. We will be hosting a community gathering to learn the historic past of Catherine Street/Slip and its role in Freedom ways and community upliftment. Family and friends of all ages are welcome to join in the fun.
