High Line Wellness Break: Celebration of Wellness

Try something new this summer on the High Line. As part of West Side Fest, we bring all our High Line wellness instructors together for one special day to sample Tai Chi, Afro Brazilian Dance, and Fit and Lit for a taste of everything we have to offer this summer! Let’s come together for a special wellness day on the park.
Tai chi—the ultimate mind and body workout, often described as “meditation in motion”—involves slow, fluid, continuous movements through formalized postures of centuries-old Chinese Taoist martial arts.
Come join us to dance on the High Line! Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata and many more.
Fit and Lit is your ultimate dance cardio class, where high-energy movement meets heart-pumping music for a workout experience like no other! Groove to the beats of Soca, Hip Hop, and Afrobeats—genres that’ll keep your feet moving and your spirit lifted. We’ll kick things off with an exciting cardio warm-up that’ll have you dancing, sweating, and smiling all at once. Then, get ready for a quick, powerful HIIT section designed to boost your endurance and metabolism. But don’t worry, we finish strong with a calming mindfulness practice to leave you feeling centered and refreshed.
Free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged. Walk-ups are welcome. The event is rain or shine—the event space is fully covered. In the event of extreme weather, this program may be canceled for the health and safety of our visitors and staff. If a cancellation is necessary, Eventbrite registrants will be notified via email and we will post an update by 5pm the day before on our website and @highlinenyc’s X feed.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to move around in.

El tai chi es el mejor ejercicio para la mente y el cuerpo, a veces llamado "meditación en movimiento". Implica movimientos lentos, fluidos y continuos a través de posturas establecidas por las antiguas artes marciales taoístas de China. Este evento es gratis y abierto al público.
Zumba con Maria Assis
Una clase de baile de influencia latina que incorpora música y movimientos de baile latinos e internacionales como la salsa, el merengue, la cumbia, la bachata y muchos más.
Fuego y fuerza con Janeil Mason
Fuego y Fuerza es la clase ideal de entrenamiento cardiovascular con baile, donde el movimiento energético se combina con música que acelerará tu corazón, ¡brindándote una experiencia única e inolvidable! Baila al ritmo del Soca, el Hip Hop y el Afro beats, géneros que elevarán tu espíritu y harán que no puedas dejar de moverte. Comenzaremos con un calentamiento cardiovascular activo que te hará bailar, sudar y sonreír al mismo tiempo. Después, prepárate para una sesión corta pero intensa de entrenamiento por intervalos de alta intensidad (HIIT), diseñada para potenciar tu resistencia y activar tu metabolismo. Para cerrar con fuerza, terminaremos con una práctica de mindfulness relajante para que termines con una sensación de centralidad y renovación.
