City of Water Day Vernam Barbadoes Coastal Cleanup and Tour
Saturday, July 12, 2025
10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Volunteer with the Stewardship Team to protect coastal areas along the Vernam Barbaodes Peninsula in celebration of City of Water Day! Volunteers will help us remove the debris from the park, creating a healthier ecosystem. At 1:00 PM, we will shift over to an optional tour of the park. We will showcase the unique coastal plant community of Vernam Barbadoes, and tell you about how you can help support the conservation of rare and threatened plants in NYC Parks.
Face masks may be worn at your discretion. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes and clothing that can get dirty. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. To sign up a group of 10 or more volunteers, please reach out to stewardship@parks.nyc.gov.
