Licensed Day Camps

DOHMH Licensed Day Camps are now able to secure a pool permit to use NYC Parks’ outdoor pools. If you are a camp facilitator, here’s how to apply.

Season Information

For 2025, Camp swimming season takes place from July 14 – August 22, Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Crotona Pool (Bronx), Betsy Head Pool (Brooklyn), and Lyons Pool (Staten Island).

How to Apply for a Permit

If your camp wants to apply for a Pool Day Camp Permit, please fill out a Pool Day Camp Permit Application and return it with payment of a $25 non-refundable processing fee. No permit will be processed without payment of the fee.

Application Guidelines

• Checks or money orders should be made payable to NYC Department of Parks & Recreation.
• Applications submitted during the first week of registration from April 21-April 28 will be given priority. We will aim to fulfill application date requests as best we can while also working to accommodate as many groups as possible.
• Applications submitted after April 28 will be processed on a first come, first served basis if any slots remain open.
• If your camp applies, you will receive notification from the borough permit offices no later than May 12 to inform you of your slot selection and confirm any paperwork that is still needed to complete the process, as well as the pool permit fee.

Applicants should be prepared to submit the following materials for processing:

• Summer Day Camp Pool Permit Application
• $25 Application Fee
• Copy of your DOHMH Day Camp License with approval to swim
• Certificate of Insurance and an accompanying Broker Certificate
• Pool Safety Plan
• Aquatics Director and Lifeguard Certification for staff

$25 Application Fees must be by check made payable to: New York City Department of Parks &. Recreation. Checks must be delivered to a Borough Permit Office or postmarked by April 28, 2025 to be considered for first round priority scheduling.
